![]() ![]() They did some cool stuff for other songs too, but I'm generally not seeking out watching Animals at Rome compared to wanting to rock out to Stockholm Syndrome at Glastonbury or HAARP (or anywhere else). Visually, Follow Me is the only one from the concert that truly stands out where I want to watch that in particular. In fact, I can't think of a single song where I prefer the Rome audio to another live version I have. I'll listen to any Muse song in person, and I can imagine how awesome it must have been with the floating light bulb thing :)īut when it comes to songs I'm listening to in my car or while I work, that set list is just too weak and I have better live versions of most songs they played. I'm sure in person it would have been pretty cool. ![]() I'm a fan of Unintended, Guiding Light is just "ok" (certainly not better than any of the songs they cut), and Blackout is a song I skip every time whether it is Absolution or HAARP. If I wanted to show them a beautiful, over the top concert with a lot of their newer music people are probably more familiar with due to radio plays, and something that showcased what Muse is more like now in a live setting, I would pick Rome. If I want to show them just a bombastic rock concert, I'd show them HAARP. HAARP I think.īut if I had to show someone one of the two, it would depend why I am showing them. That being said, My favorite would probably depend on my mood, but right now. I thoroughly enjoyed it, and it did a good job of capturing where the band currently sits for live performances. More production value to the movie itself, the quality and details is insane with HD. HAARP I just love, the camera styles, raw energy, setlist, I've watched it so many times I'm surprised my disc still works. Matt mentioned in interview that the setlist they chose was partially to show and do something different than the HAARP DVD, and that is why songs like SS and BF&H were left out (he mentioned those ones specifically). I feel like they are kind of comparing apples and oranges. ![]()
